Four IKEA PAX wardrobes
Assembly of four PAX wardrobes: frames, hinged doors and interior fittings.
IKEA furniture assembly in Prague
I assemble IKEA and other flat-pack furniture in your home anywhere in Prague: wardrobes, beds, desks, shelves or a whole flat. We arrange everything in English, I fix tall furniture to the wall, and I take the packaging away. Send me your order or links to the products. I reply with a time estimate and a price in writing. A date is usually possible within 48 hours on working days.
What I assemble
I bring my own tools. At the end I adjust the doors and drawers and clean up.
- Wardrobes, including PAX with hinged or sliding doors and interior fittings
- Beds, bunk beds and children's beds, with or without storage
- Chests of drawers and sideboards, for example MALM, HEMNES or BRIMNES
- Shelving and TV units, for example KALLAX, BILLY or BESTÅ
- Desks, office chairs, dining tables and chairs
- Cabinets that hang on the wall: bathroom, mirror and shoe cabinets

IKEA, JYSK and other brands
I assemble IKEA furniture and other flat-pack brands sold in Prague, for example JYSK, Sconto, Möbelix or XXXLutz, and furniture from online shops. If the instructions or labels are only in Czech, that is no problem. Czech is my first language.
IKEA Zličín and IKEA Černý Most
Prague has two IKEA stores. IKEA Zličín is in the west, at the end of metro line B, close to Prague 5 where I am based. IKEA Černý Most is in the east, at the other end of line B. I assemble furniture from both stores and from online orders. For opening hours and delivery options, check the IKEA website.
How it works with an IKEA delivery
- You order at IKEA, in the store or online, with delivery to your flat.
- You send me the order and the delivery date.I send you a time estimate and a price.
- We agree a date after the delivery.When the delivery comes in the morning, the same afternoon is sometimes possible.
- I assemble the furniture, fix it to the wall where needed and take the packaging away.

Wall anchoring
Tall furniture can tip over when a child climbs on it or when you pull out a full drawer. IKEA includes an anti-tip fitting with wardrobes, bookcases and chests of drawers, but not the screws and wall plugs. The right fixing depends on the wall.
Walls in Prague flats differ a lot:
I am a civil engineer, so I check the wall before I drill and choose plugs and screws to suit it. If you rent, read your contract first. Some landlords want to agree to any drilling.
- Concrete panels in housing estates: hard to drill, but a very strong fixing.
- Brick in older apartment buildings: a good fixing, but old plaster can be soft.
- Plasterboard in many new flats: special plugs, or a fixing into the metal frame behind it.
- Hollow ceramic blocks in newer buildings: longer plugs made for hollow walls.

Furniture assembly is charged by time. Before I come, you get a written estimate based on your order or product links.
All prices are final. Cancellation: free up to 24 hours before, later 500 CZK. You get an invoice in English or Czech. All prices are on the prices page.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a PAX wardrobe take?
It depends on the width, the doors and the interior. Sliding doors and many drawers take longer than a frame with hinged doors. A single PAX wardrobe is usually done in one visit. Send me the IKEA order, and I will estimate the time before I come.
