What I can fix

These are the jobs I do most often:

A note on Czech walls. Many Prague flats have very hard concrete walls, especially panel buildings (paneláky). Older buildings have brick walls with soft plaster. I use the right drill and wall plugs for each wall.

I do not do electrical work, such as new sockets or wiring. See the full list of services.

  • Drilling and TV mounting

: TV brackets, shelves, mirrors, pictures, curtain rails and blinds.
  • Small plumbing jobs

: taps, a dripping tap or toilet flush, siphons, new silicone around the bath or shower, washing machine hook-up.
  • Small repairs

: doors, tiles, drywall and furniture.
  • Lock and euro cylinder replacement

: front and interior doors. I measure the cylinder and supply a new one.
  • Window sill installation

: interior window sills made to measure in wood, laminate or compact.
  • Chemical anchors

: safes, TV brackets and heavy shelves, even in hollow bricks and aerated concrete.
  • Plasterboard ceiling repairs

: access hatches, cut-outs for lights, cracks and joints.
  • Painting and plaster repairs

: filling holes and cracks, plaster patches and painting a room.

For landlords and Airbnb hosts

I get flats ready between tenants or guests: small repairs, a photo report and an invoice. This helps if you live abroad. See all prices on the prices page.

Why me: fluent English, fixed prices

Fluent English

I studied civil engineering in English at the Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU). My English is at C2 level, also for technical topics. You can explain the problem in your own words.

Civil engineer

I have a master's degree (Ing.) from CTU in building services: heating, cooling, water and drainage. I can tell when a small fix is enough and when you need a bigger repair.

Prices online

My prices are on this website, in Czech crowns. For jobs charged by time, I send you an estimate before I start.

How I work

  • I confirm the date in writing.
  • You know the price before I start.
  • I clean up after the job.
  • You get an invoice in English, or in Czech if you need it.
  • I take before and after photos if you want them.

Furniture assembly & IKEA kitchens

I assemble flat-pack furniture from IKEA, JYSK and other shops: wardrobes, beds, desks, shelves or a whole flat. I anchor tall furniture to the wall, so it cannot tip over. When you move, I take furniture apart and put it back together. More on the furniture assembly page.

For IKEA kitchens I can do the whole process: measuring, planning in the IKEA planner, checking your order, and installing the units, worktop, sink and appliances. I also fit and connect the appliances. More on the IKEA kitchens page.

I am not an official IKEA partner.

New or investment flat, ready to move in or let

Have you bought a flat in a new build to live in, or as an investment? I will help you choose and fit the kitchen, prepare the water, drainage and electrical connections, choose and install the lighting, change the lock or lock cylinder and assemble the furniture. I get the flat ready for you to move in or to rent out.

If you live abroad, we agree everything in English and I send you photo reports. Tell me what the flat needs.

  • Kitchen and lighting: choosing, planning and installing the kitchen, choosing and fitting the lights.
  • Water, drainage and wiring: new pipes and wiring are done by a plumber and a licensed electrician. I arrange and coordinate them for you.
  • Lock and furniture: a new lock or lock cylinder, and all furniture assembled and anchored to the wall.
